As Rajdeep said in his speech, time alloted to him was 1 hour speech and 1 hour question answer session. However he spoke for around 40 min and Q/A for 45 min.

Rajdeep should be very happy as more than 50% of the housefull audience was of youths from media and communication college wing.

In his speech he highlited the Three ‘C’ that sells in India. Crime, Cinema and Cricket. Politicians are soft target. Had there been TV in 1984 Rajeev Gandhi would have not lasted long as PM. Gujarat and Crime. How can an Indian can kill Indian. Godra was 20 min but aftermath was for 6 days. Current news overtakes every other important news. Metros V/s village.

To a question on Khandamal coverage, logistic is a major problem but also told that because of media it has been acknowledged by International Society.

He also said that Tsunami got a wide coverage but not Latur earthquake. If in 1992 Private channel were there, all would have been station on the Ghumbat of Babri Masjid and destruction would have never taken place.

He spoke on print media but he totally omitted internet WebPages and individual reporting as also SMS business.

He stressed upon Independent Private body for regulation on Media.

He agreed to Prof. Nanadakumar Kamat query less importance given to promotion of Scientific temper by media but also said that it does not sell.
